Organizational Overview

The Wimberley Players

Wimberley, Texas 78676

Mission Statement

To provide Wimberley and Central Texas with first-class theater in the intimate setting of the Wimberley Playhouse.

Every season brings a new roster of shows to our stage - some are classics or old favs, some very new - comedies, musicals, dramas, thrillers. We take you into other worlds with every show. Watch for surprises, as we add extra events during 2017.

Impact Statement

Our impact on the community is reflected in the variety of our shows and the loyalty of our patrons - with many sold out performances and accolades from reviewers. Thank you to all our supporters! In 2016 we received a matching grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts that funded a public garden in front of the theater, adding a special spot to enjoy on Old Kyle Road. The garden also has a small stage for free outdoor musical offerings.

Needs Statement

Continually upgrading the quality of our productions means constant upgrading of everything that goes into our shows - lights, sound equipment, and equipment for our set construction shop. The cost of costumes and sets also continues to rise. Your donation might land on an actor's shoulder as a fancy cape, or up in the tech booth where theater technology adds magic to every show. Thank you in advance for helping us create amazing theater.

From Cathy Moreman, Executive Director of the Wimberley Chamber of Commerce:
The Wimberley Players are an astonishingly successful performing arts group and an anchor of the Wimberley Cultural District. As a former Houstonian and a theater lover in the big city, I must admit that the quality of the Players' productions have caught me off guard. I have attended many performances and like my friends and families who accompany me have been moved to tears and laughter. They truly offer amazing theater.
The Wimberley Players is a volunteer organization with two paid staff: executive produce and artistic director. We welcome you as a volunteer on stage, back stage and off stage - from directing, producing, acting and stage managing to designing and constructing sets, making costumes, running lights and working as crew. Or come volunteer in the box office, or as theater manager or usher - or work on marketing, fundraising, membership, hospitality and more. The Players have a spot for you if you would like to join our theater family. Visit and click Volunteer.
