Mission Statement

Provide sustainable, life-saving water as a catalyst for lasting community and economic development in Africa.

Almost 1 billion people do not have access to clean water. And for every dollar that is donated to the water crisis, only a small fraction is making an impact.
Approximately 60 percent of the existing wells in Africa don't work because of poor project planning, shortage of technical attention, environmental mistakes, and lack of community involvement. A broken water well introduces an economic and health disaster for a previously flourishing people, and tears communities apart. If you are a contributor to Well Aware, you can be assured that your donation is still providing water. Our proven and sustainability model guarantees that our water systems will continue to work for decades, with exponential impact from project planning and partner contributions. In 2017 we are launching a new technology and we are adding Tanzania as one of the countries we are working in.

Impact Statement

Promise:
Well Aware implements sustainable water solutions that impact more people per donor dollar invested than any other water charity.

Support:
We can accomplish this because our communities are supported by economic growth driven by our community-based model in partnership with other NGO's, which yields between $4 and $12 in work productivity for every $1 invested.

Needs Statement

Every $10 dollars donated to Well Aware will provide water to one person for at least 20-30 years. This is the most efficient and effective model for any water charity. Our goal in 2017 is to provide another 50.000 people with fresh water.

"Well Aware has created amazing sustainable water projects in rural Kenya that have changed and saved thousands of lives. I'm honored to get to help an organization such as Well Aware in continuing to help those in need. It's nice to know that there are organizations like Well Aware who truly put the people they intend to help as top priority. This is something I have found to not be the case in other non-profits. Seeing such a huge portion of all money raised going straight into their projects is amazing. "

From Nobelity Project
"Well Aware has been the water system implementation partner for several Nobelity Project school locations in Kenya, resulting in healthier, happier students and staff. Clear standards, fast action, good research and follow through make them a high-impact organization and quality partner. Looking forward to many more opportunities to work together for a more peaceful and sustainable world"

Sponsored By: GloFish®

GloFish® is proud to announce that it is once again partnering with Well Aware, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides innovative and sustainable solutions to reduce water scarcity in East Africa. During Amplify Austin, an event within the Austin community that is raising funds for local and international causes, GloFish will match dollar-for-dollar every donation made to Well Aware, up to a total of $10,000, in hopes that we can bring clean water for life to thousands more in need. We hope that you will join us in our fight to save lives!
