Mission Statement

The Salvation Army pledges to Do The Most Good with contributions of money, time and resources, evidenced in that 83 cents of every dollar donated is directly allocated to services that assist people in need.

The Salvation Army is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

You may be surprised to learn that the largest group of people sheltered by The Salvation Army are WOMEN and CHILDREN. The Salvation Army is the largest provider of shelter to women and children experiencing homelessness in Austin.

Your donation today will stay local and help more than 230 women and children living in our shelters every day. Your donation helps these women move from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

Impact Statement

The Salvation Army operates the largest emergency shelter agency in Central Texas. More than 300 people sleep on a bed each night and more than 1,000 meals are served daily, 365 days a year.

Your donation stays local to give families a hand UP.

Needs Statement

We are working to raise $35,000 to provide food, shelter and wraparound services to women and children living in our emergency shelters. Our wraparound services include childcare, life skills training, individualized therapy, case management, tutoring, personal budgeting and employment services. Your gift will help women and children facing homelessness move from crisis to stability.

"When you are the one who needs it, shelter is the most important thing in the world that day." - Kathy Ridings, Social Services Director

"There was a point that obviously my mom had decided she had to ask for help. Looking back on that now, I'm really glad that she did because I know as a person that is something that she always avoided. Family business is family business in my house and certainly when it came to this, taking a handout was never her style. And I think it took a lot for her to not just recognize that we were in a position that she couldn't pull us out on her own, but that it was OK to ask." - Sam Espinosa

Your contribution really does make a difference for women and children in greatest need in Travis and Williamson counties. Thank you for you support.
