Shadow Cats Amped! (Jane Coniglio)
by Jane Coniglio
I have been a volunteer with Shadow Cats for over 6 years and the Volunteer Coordinator for over 2 years. This is my passion. Year after year, I have seen the positive impact we make on the lives of hundreds of special needs cats and kittens providing them with a home where they feel safe and loved in a stress-free environment. We strive to meet their every need and ensure they always receive exemplary veterinary care. I like to say that we are a small dedicated group of people who do amazing work. The sanctuary is truly a magical place. Our cats have the opportunity to live their best lives ever, on their own terms. But, we don't stop there. Shadow Cats has volunteers who feed about 300 community cats every day! Our feeders not only ensure that the cats are fed daily but also account for all the cats and watch for any signs of illness or injury that may need to be addressed.

I'm proud of the important work we do. Please help me raise as much as I can during Amplify Austin!

Tune in to the leaderboard and watch us meow! (roar!)

The Future Fund (Sheila Smith)
by Sheila Lindley Smith
Shadow Cats has been in the same location for over 20 years. Donations made to my page will be directed to the Future Fund to purchase property for our eventual new home. Shadow Cats has been saving for several years toward our Forever Home and while we may still be a couple years from that purchase, we must set goals, because a dream without goals is just a wish.

The work being done at Shadow Cats is one of the reasons I am as passionate about this organization's mission today as when it was founded in 1997 and why a permanent home for Shadow Cats is so important. The safety of future generations of at-risk cats is dependent on our ability to provide a home for them.

At Shadow Cats, we are often the last stop- the safety net- for those with serious illnesses or injuries, those old and infirm and those in the last months, weeks or days of life. We provide those in need of dignity and respite a safe place to make their final transition. We also give cats the opportunity to live and thrive through care and veterinary support.

We are their soft landing.

We love the community cats that we may never touch. We love the hospice cats who come into our care and know love until the end of their days. We love to see their cautious faces begin to soften and their gaze begin to relax. Trust is an amazing thing.

Would you please click on the Donate button at this link and pre-schedule a donation before March 1st and help us reach our goal - and then, will you tell a friend?

Maria Has Animal Magnetism
by Mar Chin
I've been told I have a certain animal magnetism. I'd like to turn that magnetism to the coins (and currency) in your pocket for Shadow Cats! I love what Shadow Cats is doing for cats and kittens who come to us sick, injured or not adoptable because of behavioral issues. And I love the work they are doing with Feline Leukemia felines, providing a home, medical care and love for these cats and kittens who have no where else to go. Working as a volunteer at Shadow Cats is my passion - my magnificent passion. Please support Shadow Cats by donating to my passion and help us continue our work. I will personally deliver messages to the cats at the Sanctuary and tell them you are helping. You will be thanked with warm fuzzies, purrs, loving and a photo of a Shadow Cat.

A Worthy Cause! (Kathy Muelker)
by Kathy Muelker
As a volunteer with Shadow Cats for 6 years, I have the opportunity to see how they make a difference in the lives of many cats and kittens that need help. Shadow Cats is dedicated to improving the lives of abused, abandoned, feral, stray, and injured cats. Since they receive no city, state, or federal funding, Shadow Cats relies on donations from supporters and friends. The sanctuary is home to 90+ cats, many with special medical needs--including 28 kitties with the feline leukemia virus. I'm happy to support a small organization that accomplishes so much! Shadow Cats has the best friends and supporters, and we would love to have more! Join us!!

Amplify Shadow Cats! (Bonnie Denbo)
by Bonnie Denbo
Every Saturday, rain or shine, I volunteer at Shadow Cats because I truly believe in what Shadow Cats does. They provide a chance at life for sick or injured animals that would normally have no other options other than being put down. They literally save the lives of cats in our local community even if that means sacrificing their home, time, money, or resources. Shadow Cats has helped feral cat colonies, promoted local TNR, and through their One Life Fund have provided assistance to numerous cats in need of urgent medical care. Please help me raise funds so that Shadow Cats can continue it's mission and help save the kitties of Central Texas.

It's a Family Affair! (Randy Cooper)
by Randy Cooper
My daughter, Bonnie, is a volunteer at Shadow Cats. This organization is something that really provides an excellent service to the local community. Not only do they feed the local feral cat colonies but they also support trap, neuter, and return (TNR) efforts in the Austin area. They also take in cats with health problems that would have nowhere else to go. My wife and I support this organization not just because our daughter is a part of the group but because it really is a great cause.

Little Organization Doing Big Things (Jennifer Hayes)
by Jennifer Hayes
This is Teddy. Yes, he's incredibly adorable, but he's also lucky to be alive.

When he was rescued off the streets, he had a terrible infection. It was so bad, it took many months of Shadow Cats' care for him to recuperate. Ouch! Even now, Teddy's resistant to most antibiotics. So, he needs to be watched closely every day to make sure the deep-seated infection doesn't return. Luckily Shadow Cats is up to the challenge and he has a place where he'll get all the love and medical attention he needs for the rest of his life.

Of course, all the sanctuary's cats receive state-of-the-art medical care - and you can help them continue their lifesaving work.

I've been involved with Shadow Cats for over 10 years now and see the amazing work they do first-hand. Please support my efforts to fundraise for this little organization that does amazingly big things. Not only does Shadow Cats provide sanctuary for nearly 100 felines, they trap/neuter/return (TNR) community cats, help maintain colonies of hundreds of cats, and even offer resources to other organizations with cats in need.

Help cats like Teddy - please donate today. Thank you for your support.

Funding the Felines at Shadow Cats (Alyssa Sanchez)
by Alyssa Sanchez
I began volunteering at Shadow Cats last spring and immediately fell in love with the cats, the sanctuary, and the mission. I was proud to be involved with such an amazing group of people who truly love and deeply care for these cats, many of whom would be euthanized had they not found their way to this awesome rescue. My vet tech experience and passion for these felines turned my volunteering into a full-time position in December, and I am humbled and honored to be on staff here. I am in awe of the number of people who volunteer their time to help out around the sanctuary, who feed community cats, and who are active in the TNR program. I've now seen first-hand how much food, medicine, litter, laundry, and countless other items and services it takes to keep Shadow Cats going on a daily basis. Please consider donating to this amazing cat rescue and sanctuary. These incredible animals need us and deserve our very best.

Supporting Shadow Cats (Rick Watson)
by Rick Watson
I've been a volunteer at Shadow Cats since 2010 and have seen the great things they do for cats in need.
I am fundraising in honor and memory of my beloved companion of almost 22 years, Toby. Toby was adopted from the Austin Humane Society in 1996. He lived a full and well-loved life and his passing has been deeply felt. The best way I can honor Toby's memory is to give another cat in need a home and it is with this in mind that I am adopting Valentino. One cat can never replace another, the love for both simply enlarges the heart:) It is for cats like Toby and Valentino, that I am asking for your support.
Please consider a donation to my page to help the cats that need us the most.
