HAAM's work continues to be as important as ever. Since 2005, HAAM has helped over 4,700 musicians access over $44 million dollars in healthcare services.

The constant changing healthcare landscape for the past few years has been a challenge for HAAM - but we have successfully continued to fill the gaps left by the ever-changing system. HAAM is in a unique position to act as both a safety-net gap provider and a supporter of the cultural arts.

Impact Statement

Austin musicians are vital to the city's economic health. Each year the Austin music industry creates nearly $2 billion in economic activity, provides over 18,000 jobs and attracts tens of thousands of visitors from around the world who want to experience the "Live Music Capital of the World."

Needs Statement

There are more than 8,000 working musicians in the City of Austin. HAAM currently serves more than 2,500 musicians and we estimate there are another 2,000 who qualify for our services. Last year alone, we experienced almost a 20 percent membership growth and expect the trend to continue this year. Your support is needed now more than ever to help keep up with this unprecedented growth.
"As a Type 1 Diabetic, I will die in about two days without insulin. I used to have to use the Texas Health Insurance Risk Pool for coverage, but even as an eleven-time Austin Music Award winner, I couldn't afford both the premiums and the copays, so I couldn't get my prescriptions filled. When I went to HAAM, the most amazing thing happened: I started actually getting the service I needed, at a price I could afford, with tests and prescriptions included--and that means insulin. So when I say HAAM saved my life, I mean it literally!" -John Pointer

"When I found out about my brain tumor I called the good folks at HAAM. Not only did you help me on the spot... you gave me hope and love. I can't describe the gratitude I feel for this amazing organization. You change lives, you build community, you give musicians a chance to follow their dreams. You made what could have been the hardest time of my life the most inspirational time of my life! Keep up the great work!" Stephanie, HAAM member-musician.
