In the last four years Groundwork has tripled services to include 8 elementary schools and 6 preschools.
Last year Groundwork embarked on a partnership with ACE after school to provide enrichment activities for economically disadvantaged schools.
In 2016 Groundwork began a music training program for pre-school instructors and parents enabling them to share musical knowledge with the young children in their care.
The summer of 2016 Groundwork also began a ukulele summer camp program, offering an artistic outlet and performance opportunity for many children who would not normally have access to summer programs.
Groundwork offers scholarships, discounted lessons, and free instruments to those who qualify.

With our specially trained (and paid!) teachers and unique training methods, students as young as four are learning to play ukulele and having fun doing it! We will have a number of great live events with our students in the upcoming seasons!

Impact Statement

Your donations not only provide scholarships for many of our students, but they help support top quality music programs in 6 Austin area preschools and 8 elementary schools, along with year round stage performances at which Groundwork students can showcase their skills.

Needs Statement

Three hundred dollars covers the cost of a month of weekly classes for one of our preschool classrooms. Four hundred dollars covers the same for a month of programming to our elementary students.

Our goal of $10,000 in Amplify Austin donations (in combination with other funds) will help us provide services at 8 elementary schools, 6 Austin area preschools, our preschool teacher training program, as well as stage performances (with students and professional musicians playing together).

With your help, our students will learn indelible musical skills over the course of the year's programming; from learning to carry a tune and keep a beat, to instrument play and song writing.
"It is amazing to us that the Groundwork teachers really know our children...they have a close relationship with all of the children, calling them by name and knowing what songs each child likes or special needs each child requires."
Gloria Neunaber- Trinity Child Development Center

"The Groundwork teachers bring joy and beauty to the children they serve and to the childcare center staff"
Margot Ritchie- Arts and Fitness Program for Young Children

"I recently joined the Groundwork board, and have been excitedly telling folks about it. Groundwork's founder (we call him Mr. Neal) was my daughter's preschool music teacher. Now even though she's in college, we keep up with Mr. Neal, who has founded this great organization."
