The EmilyAnn is turning 20! We are proud of what we have accomplished the past 20 years and are focusing on building the future of the EmilyAnn to sustain us for the next 20 and beyond. Our programming continues to grow. This January we hosted our first 24-Hour Play Festival. Last fall we launched a Shakespeare-focused creative play group, Bard's Babies, for preschoolers. We're looking forward to the 20th Annual Butterfly Festival on April 21st, and our signature program for high school students, Shakespeare Under the Stars, continues to thrive. New features are sprouting up in our gardens, which are open to the public daily. Come explore!

Impact Statement

Each year, the EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens serves more than 40,000 visitors from Central Texas through family-friendly productions (an outdoor summer musical and three indoor studio shows); a Children's Theatre Series (four productions annually); our high school summer program, Shakespeare Under the Stars; after school drama classes and camps; playwriting workshops for students in grades 2 - 5; the popular community festivals Trail of Lights and Butterfly Festival; and gardens and interactive grounds, including the Veterans Memorial Plaza, which are open daily.

Needs Statement

Help us create space for costumes, classrooms, and creativity! We are seeking funds to build a permanent building to replace two aging trailers that currently serve as our dressing rooms and classroom/meeting space.

Wish the EmilyAnn a Happy 20th with a gift of $20 or more! Contributions of any size will help us build needed facilities, keep our programming affordable, our ticket prices low, and our gardens open to the public at no cost 365 days a year.

Shakespeare Under the Stars
It was amazing to watch a group of teenagers build sets, create elaborate costumes, and learn to perform Shakespeare. In four short, hot weeks, under the direction of the dedicated and talented staff at the EmilyAnn, they created a masterpiece and presented two amazing weeks of solid performances. By the end of the summer, my daughter had grown from a kid who knew very little about the theater, to one who could impart Shakespeare, and one who had a new confidence and direction in life. The Shakespeare Under the Stars program influenced her in so many positive ways, and will doubtless impact her for a lifetime. Thank you so very much for the amazing influence your program has on our teenagers - D. Hasbrouck.

Butterfly Festival
Over the last four years, my Girl Scout Troops have volunteered at the Butterfly Festival. Numerous organizations, school groups, classrooms, families, and clubs raise butterfly cages. They spend weeks taking care of the butterflies, watching them grow from a caterpillar to a butterfly. Many travel to the event to watch the butterflies be released. The joy we watched on their faces made it worth every minute of volunteering. This is a great community event and my girls and I will volunteer again this year - A. Haston.
The EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens welcomes volunteers for all our events - the annual Butterfly Festival, productions, and Trail of Lights - as well as ongoing volunteers in the gardens and in our office.
