Recognized by the Austin Chronicle as the Best Creative Outlet for Youth, E4 Youth provides pathways into creative and technology based careers through Get Creative enrichment clubs. Get Creative clubs are led by coaches selected from E4 Youth's pool of trained college mentors and industry professionals. Coaches poll students about their interests and curate a series of guest speakers and creative projects designed to help them cultivate those interests.

Every 90 - 120 minute class begins with an Employability Curriculum activity that helps students cultivate social emotional learning skills needed to flourish in the workplace. Then, students apply design thinking concepts as they participate in content creation projects in one of 4 focus areas: Visual Design/Photography, Audio/Video production, Coding/Interactive Design, or Journalism/Social Media.

Coaches review their work and award credits that can qualify students for industry access, special rewards, job shadow and internship opportunities from E4 Youth partners.

Last Summer students participating in our Shadow the Pros program worked with the local ad agency Sherry Matthews to create videos, photography and written features for Capital Metro's blog/social media campaign the Austin Collective. Their work was featured as part of the Studio East tour along side 15 of Austin's finest photographers and filmmakers.

Gabriel Leal, E4 Youth Alumnus, McGarrah Jessee Ad Agency

"I was at risk of not graduating. I was really unengaged having a hard time finding purpose and trying to figure out what I wanted to do. We went out to tour certain industry facilities like advertising agencies and animation studios. It was a world that I knew existed but I had never actually seen it. I'd never had a first hand look and when I saw that, I realized here's something I can do."

Damien Flores, E4 Youth Alumnus

"This opportunity came to me at a time where I needed it the most, a time where I needed to believe that I have a chance to be someone, that my passion and skills are of value, and that I could be a part of a creative community. I can't express enough the abundance of knowledge I received and the experiences I got to live because of this program."

Jaclyn Labelle, E4 Youth Alumnus

"I think more than anything, this program has really encouraged me to stay strong in my decision to go into media and design, and has boosted my self esteem. I never really thought I was that good at design or art or anything
