Amplify Austin Day is our city's annual community-wide day of online giving. The 24- hour period provides an easy and fun way for our entire community to give together while helping local nonprofits. Over the past three years, Amplify Austin has raised over $16.2M for hundreds of local organizations. In 2015, 41 percent of the 44,700 Amplify Austin donations were first time gifts to nonprofit organizations. Together we raised over $7.7M for over 500 Central Texas nonprofits. 


Last year, over 500 nonprofits participated in Amplify Austin Day.  We are hoping to raise over $9M for more than 600 nonprofits on March 8-9, 2016. All of these organizations play an important role in making Central Texas a better place to live. Amplify Austin Day is a 24-hour online giving day on March 8th at 6PM until March 9th at 6PM. Go to and type in the name of the nonprofit(s) you want to contribute to. You can also search by category of services. There are more than 600 nonprofits registered, so you're sure to find one that speaks to you. When you've selected your nonprofit(s) you can click the donate button and create a cart for payment once you're ready.
Of course we encourage year-round giving, but we're making a special appeal on March 8-9, 2016. This is the day to celebrate and support nonprofits in Central Texas that make this a better place for everyone to live. PLUS, your gift made through will be amplified by incentive matching dollars from our generous sponsors. Your gift may also help your favorite nonprofit win one of the four the grand prizes or hourly Bass Booster prizes during the 24-hour period.
Amplify Austin Day is a 24-hour giving day from 6pm Tuesday, March 8 until 6pm Wednesday, March 9, 2016.
More than 500 nonprofits headquartered and serving in Travis and surrounding counties are represented and have the following documentation: 501c3 public charity; Comply with IRS 990 requirements; Registered with the Texas Secretary of State and Active status with TX Comptroller; Provided audited financials for the previous year's operations or a letter documenting fiscal responsibility if their revenues are under $50,000. As always, we encourage you to do your own due diligence as you consider your charitable giving.
Nonprofits will have the opportunity to win grand prizes and hourly prizes.
The suggested minimum donation on Amplify Austin Day is $25. However, our new platform is designed to allow gifts of $10 and above. We strongly recommend keeping your gift at $25 and above. This will not only maximize your impact but it will also help your favorite nonprofit achieve their ambitious goals during this 24hrs of Amplify Austin Day!
Yes! You can load up a cart of different nonprofits you want to give to on March 8-9. When you're ready, you can make one payment. Only the registered Central Texas nonprofits may receive gifts through Amplify Austin Day.
Yes! Our technology provider has a "mobile optimized platform" that will make it easy to make a gift on using your smart phone.
Yes! The recurring gift feature allows donors to make automated, online donations to a nonprofit on a regular schedule. You can set this up during your payment process. We're also offering you an option of scheduling your donation ahead of time! However, only the donation amount scheduled for March 8-9, 2016, will qualify for a boost from the incentive fund and counted toward nonprofit prizes.
Yes! Our website is powered by CiviCore and is a secure PCI-compliant site for donating to your favorite charities. You can be sure your personal information is protected when you donate. The number one way we protect consumer data is by not actually touching your credit card information. Our website security is intentionally separated from the security of your sensitive information. Our credit card processor is Braintree Payment Solutions and they are PCI Compliant Level One, the highest level required of any processor handling over 6 million visa transactions per year. You will receive an immediate thank you and tax receipt for 100% of your donation(s), which you should print out for your records. By selecting a specific charity to receive your donation, your gift is restricted for that charity and will not be given to any other charity. Your donation will be in the hands of your nonprofits within 4 weeks.  
I Live Here, I Give Here works hard to make Amplify Austin a cost-effective and successful fundraising campaign for over 500 nonprofits. There is an 8% transaction fee of which 3% is the passthrough credit card fee. In order to mitigate the fee, we traditionally give 1-2% back through the incentive fund as well as award prizes. In 2015, the effective rate per transaction was 3.4%. Fee covers staff, platform, nonprofit trainings, marketing, forensic accounting and PR for the campaign. Also we reinvest in the next Amplify Day to make it bigger and better for our nonprofits.
You will receive an immediate thank you and tax receipt for 100% of your donation(s). Your chosen nonprofits will thank you as well. You can choose to make an anonymous donation if you prefer. Anonymous donors will receive a tax receipt, but will not receive a thank you from the nonprofit organization they contributed to.  
Of course! We're excited to offer you that opportunity. Individuals and businesses can be fundraisers. You pick your own fundraising goal for a chosen nonprofit and accept donations on your fundraising page on All fundraisers must register and complete an online fundraising page. Eligibility is based on providing services in our area and an organization's current status as a recognized Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity. Of course! Companies can commit to support Amplify Austin Day by encouraging their employees to give generously to the causes they care about. Your Colleagues will identify themselves when they make their donation. These companies will compete on Amplify Austin Day for the glory that comes from being a great corporate citizen.
