Mission Statement

To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

The Boys & Girls Club of Georgetown (BGCGT) has been in existence since 2006 serving local youth and families. In that time, it has seen a large growth in membership and in the need for its critical services. 2015 was a year of excitement and change for the Club with a parcel of land being donated for future development, as well as a move to consolidate locations at the old Carver Elementary School in Georgetown (currently fallow). BGCGT is now serving more children after school than ever before and so the need to expand our donor base is obviously important. Local partnerships have given Club Staff and Board Volunteers the opportunity to build these relationships further and also begin strategic dialogue to move forward over the next 3-5 years. BGCGT is still the only Boys & Girls Club in Williamson County and is proud of the fact that the Annual Membership Due is still $10 per year per child, as it was upon opening in 2006. The need for sustaining funds and potentially capital funds in the future is therefore large so we hope you will support our efforts in 2017 and beyond.

Impact Statement

The Boys & Girls Club of Georgetown (BGCGT) opened its doors in 2006 with 100 club members and completed 2016 having served almost 800. During the school year all attendees are Georgetown residents, however during the summer months youth attend from Hutto, Leander, Florence, Jarell, Pflugerville, and other surrounding communities as it is still currently the only Boys & Girls Club in Williamson County. With almost 60% of our members stating family income of under $30,000 per year, and only 12% stating that they did not qualify for free/reduced lunches at school, the need for a local safe and affordable after school and school holiday alternative is critical. BGCGT continues to offer yearly after school membership at only $10 per child and keeps its summer weekly fees at $10 per week meaning that programs and services are very affordable for those who, due to financial constraints, are not able to participate in other opportunities.

"When I came to the Boys and Girls Club it was more than just a building with white walls, it was my home away from home, it was a group of people who cared about how I felt and saw the person I could be. The club has helped me deal with my bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, along with suicidal thoughts and actions. At one point in my life my therapeutic regimen included prescription drugs and weekly therapy appointments. But more than drugs and therapy sessions, the BGC was really my safe place"

Aelissa - 2016 Youth of the Year

"I have been through a lot these past 17 years of my life. I went from homeless and starving and had my best friend die in a car crash. Now I am a candidate for Youth of the Year which means a lot. The club has helped me grow into a young man. I appreciate the Boys & Girls Club and will never take it for granted"

"I was eight when I first entered the Boys and Girls Club and over that time I played, laughed, cried, smiled, and changed. I was an only child to a struggling single mother. I was bullied and constantly made to feel not good enough by mean kids at school. I was sometimes embarrassed and even ashamed. This club has guided me and sometimes even dragged me through my problems. This club has made me into the young man I am today"

Great Futures Start Here!!

by Karin Waits

Please consider donating to the future! I have seen first hand the difference the Boys and Girls club makes in the lives of the kids. Not only is the club a safe place, but the skills, the education, the socialization, and the fun they receive is PRICELESS! I have heard the stories and the path of some club kids would be full of gloom. Fortunately the club provides so much for only an annual membership of $10. The Boys and Girls Club turns that gloom into lifelong skills and opportunity!

Any donation to building the future will be appreciated!
