Our school gardens and EcoWellness program had to start over from the start when we moved into our new campus last year. Last year students worked hard to amend soil and develop solid compositing and zero waste initiatives to ensure that our campus grounds were ready for cultivating. This year, we aspire to plant and harvest and create new pollinator gardens.

Impact Statement

ADS is a tuition-free, innovative charter school serving children in grades K-8. Our purpose is to develop socially & emotionally aware children through hands-on, project-based instruction which focuses on the fine arts, good health, environmental & social stewardship, while pursuing meaningful and rigorous academics. Classrooms are full of movement and social interactions as learners work cooperatively and share their knowledge with one another. In order to meet the individual needs of students, ADS has a well-developed program designed to deliver instruction in small groups, teams or individually as needed.

Needs Statement

.As we begin our second year on our new campus, ADS students and staff are hard a work cultivating new campus, connecting water to our gardens, and developing outdoor classrooms and spaces for learning so that all students can access learning in varied environments.
ADS is fabulous. We have been so pleased with this creative and supportive academic community. Our children are thriving with more exercise and outdoor time than the typical school; with a focus on social emotional well-being that creates a warm friendly student body and an individual approach to teaching that does not use state testing as the guide but a holistic approach to all subject levels including math and reading. Love this school and all they represent!
