Assistance League of Austin

Organizational Overview

Assistance League of Austin
4901 Burnet Road
Austin, Texas 78756

Mission Statement

With care and commitment, Assistance League of Austin improves the well-being of our community - one child, one teen, one adult at a time.

We are expanding our program to serve a larger pool of students who attend schools that specify uniform-style clothing (usually khaki pants or skirts and polo-style shirt). These schools serve at-risk and underserved students. In the 2015-2016 school year, we provided a school wardrobe to more than 6,755 children in grades PK-12.

Impact Statement

Assistance League of Austin is an all-volunteer organization - there are no paid staff. In the most recent fiscal year, the value of 62,194 hours contributed by Assistance League of Austin members returned more than $1,400,000 to the Austin Community.

Needs Statement

Assistance League of Austin, with a rich history of supporting the vision and talents of volunteers engaged in personal service to our community, accepts donations of gently used items to sell in the Thrift House which are recycled to the community at affordable prices.

"I enjoy working with friends to support our programs which provide for others. I get excited sorting donations and looking for that 'treasure' which will bring top dollar at Thrift House to buy new clothes, toys, and items needed for our programs." Margaret Stafford
Assistance League of Austin welcomes Community Volunteers who would like to help our members with special projects. Please contact Margaret Kahn if you would like more information.
