#AmplifyATX for Blue Dog Rescue
My name is Tina Maines and I am using Amplify Austin day to support Blue Dog Rescue, an all volunteer, non-profit organization that focuses our efforts on dogs that have a high risk of euthanasia and little chance of being adopted due to medical condition, size, color, age, breed or over-crowding conditions in Texas shelters. Blue Dog Rescue is a dedicated group of foster families that provides safe in-home fostering to needy pups while they receive medical care, socialization, basic training and love. We are strongly committed to the spaying and neutering of all companion animals and support community education in that effort.
Hogan and Stella are two examples of Blue Dog success stories. Stella, who was surrendered by her previous owner to be euthanized, came to Blue Dog with an untreated seizure disorder, as well as testing positive for heartworms. Following medical treatment, Stella is heartworm negative and on medication that has helped reduce and control her seizures. She lives a happy and energetic life with her forever family and has discovered she's quite a good city and country dog.
Hogan became a Blue Dog through Austin Animal Control. He was a malnourished, bald and scabby boy with treatable Demodex mange. He started medication, bi-weekly baths and lots of good nutrition, and within a few short weeks, Hogan was ready to find his own family to love. Today Hogan is happily enjoying walks and play dates while excelling in training with his very own family.
Thank you Austin community for supporting Blue Dog Rescue's continued efforts to help dogs like Hogan and Stella during this fundraising campaign. #AmplifyATX
