Mission: Uniting communities to bring an end to child trafficking by raising awareness, preventing victimization, and reducing demand.
Vision: Imagine a world without child exploitation.
The PACT Student Ambassador program has expanded with individual ambassadors and chapters at Universities and High Schools across Central Texas. These students create a project to raise awareness, prevent victimization, and/or reduce demand and are supported in implementation by PACT staff. The students are then entered to receive a scholarship for their efforts. We are continuing to offer our free community trainings and also now have a new in-depth research-based training, which is being presented to CASA staff (Killeen), licensed psychochologists, educators, and other professionals looking for an in-depth look at child trafficking's causes and solutions from a preventative public health perspective. Finally, we are presenting the Conquer Series in small groups at churches throughout Central Texas for men who are addicted to pornography and prostitution in order to address demand for sex trafficking. We are also developing a behavioral science-based youth program that not only focuses on reducing victimization, but creating advocates and reducing the likelihood of becoming a future buyer. This year, we hope to also place our trainings on an online portal so that all that want in-depth training have instant access to it.
Impact StatementOur public health approach to child trafficking entails using the most up-to-date research to define the problem, identify risk and protective factors, understand the cost, and develop prevention strategies that engage the entire community. To date, we have trained nearly 4,000 community members and sponsored over 80 student ambassadors, in addition to participating in awareness raising at community events throughout the year. We have also packed over 900 Little Red Bags for high risk children and women, plus another 370 bags of supplies and information for our homeless community members.
Needs StatementHuman Sex Trafficking is the largest and fastest growing enterprise in the world today. Many of the victims of sex trafficking are underaged children. Texas has the 2nd highest number of reported cases of any state in the country. While we do need shelters and services to help survivors rehabilitate, we desperately need a research-based effort to prevent both victimization and demand. We need people in our Texas communities to stand up and help in the effort to raise awareness, reduce victimization, and disrupt demand. Your donations will help to support free trainings for the community, scholarships for students that develop projects to make an impact on their campus, and adult classes that focus on reducing demand. Don't look away, instead stand up with us today! You can help and your help makes a huge difference...Prevention is key. Together, we can make an impact!
"Partners Against Child Trafficking invested in our students to teach them, mentor them, and give them hope for the next generation. PACT has given them a voice and purpose to stop sex trafficking" -Parent of local High School Student Ambassador
