We are excited about our new, weekly meeting location at The Williamson Family Campus at The Settlement Home for Children. (One great nonprofit helping another!) We love the light, bright, cheery decor; the excellent wifi; and, more room for our sponsors and club partner, Indeed.

Impact Statement

Since 2001, Launch Pad has seen over 16,000 job seekers attend our free, weekly meeting. Most have gone on to gainful employment both locally and nationally. Many have returned to Launch Pad when seeking employment again after a layoff or down-turn in the local economy. An average of 60 members attend the weekly meeting with about 15 new members in attendance. The club also provides free, satellite classes 3x/month on topics ranging from Linkedin tips and tricks, mock interviewing, resume tweaking, salary negotiation, etc.

Needs Statement

We are seeking to fund the role of our office admin who books our weekly speakers and our free, satellite classes, sends out our weekly meeting notification, runs our Leap to Success program (pro bono projects for other nonprofits), heads up our fundraising, and coordinates our annual Employment Expo. Your support will help us begin to do just that. Thank you.
Launch Pad Job Club Members

"The Launch Pad Friday morning meetups provided some very informative talks on the job hunting process and best practices for navigating my search. As a recent code school graduate, I was thankful to be asked to work on an email design project that allowed me a chance to put my new skills to work and break away from the monotony of the application wormhole."
-Will Cook

"LPJC helped in so many ways, but in particular it was the mental and emotional aspect of going from that feeling of being completely lost and uncomfortable with myself to feeling confident and connected with other job seekers going through the same situations. Not everyone has the same story in how we got to where we were, but we all went through a journey of discovery and growth."
-Mark Kobayashi

"The Launch Pad Friday meetings helped me to tap into current trends and 'best practices' in the employment field and review hiring and interview processes. The quality of speakers and array of topics introduced me to a broader view of the 'work world' and allowed me to gain perspective on my career track in it."
-Lorie Barzano

Leap to Success Volunteers

"Volunteering with Leap to Success was a critical step to maintaining and increasing my project management skills and expanding my network when I was between jobs. Of course, it provided me the opportunity to assist a nonprofit, but I also had a productive focus during this transitional time in my life. I believe that anyone benefit from being involved with LTS."
-Suzanne Miller, Project Manager (hired by Stubb's corporate office)

Leap to Success Clients

"Recently, we worked with LTS to create new marketing materials in order to increase awareness of our organization and its services. We were very impressed with the professionalism of the LTS staff as well as the all-volunteer team. We truly value the unique service they provide to the Austin community."
-Choquette Hamilton, VP of Operations for Austin Area Urban League

"Leap to Success has been invaluable in helping us with the occasional technology and database we have had. LTS volunteers are always knowledgeable, patient and professional. I completely trust LTS and and the volunteers they send to us. As a nonprofit with a limited budget, LTS has saved us on many occasions and I will certainly call on them in the future. LTS provides a much-needed and appreciated service to nonprofits like ours and it's people like the LTS folks that help us to help others."
-Susan Wright, Office Manager for Center for Survivors of Torture

Match Amount

Matching Funds Description

Club partner, Indeed, has once again stepped up to match funds again this year. Hurray! In order to get the $5,000 offered in matching funds from our wonderfully supportive partner, we must raise the other $5,000. Please help us to get those matching funds so we might continue to provide the weekly meeting and satellite classes free to our job seeking members. Help us to continue to #PayIt4Words Thanks!
Launch Pad Job Club is run solely by volunteers, people willing to spend Friday mornings helping out at the weekly meeting: at the check-in table; on the AV team; assisting with the snack table. We are a warm, welcoming community and are always seeking volunteers ready to join our merry band and helping those who need us to be there for them every week.
