Founded in 1983, the Del Valle Independent School District created the Adopt-A-School program with the purpose of providing program support for DVISD students and teachers. In 2016, the group was rebranded as the Del Valle ISD Education Partners and became a 501c3 nonprofit. Currently, the Education Partners provide five programs for the District: New Teacher; Senior Scholarships; Teacher of the Year; Teacher Grants; and Adopter, Volunteer, and Mentor recognition.

Impact Statement

Del Valle ISD Education Partners provides programs for students and staff. Currently Del Valle ISD serves over 11,300 students, of which 88% are economically disadvantaged. Through these scholarships, students are able to purse post-secondary education endeavors either through Universities, Colleges, or Technical Schools.

Needs Statement

The Del Valle ISD Education Partners program needs funding to provide scholarships to High School seniors to pursue secondary education. Additionally, funds will be used to assist with the District's New Teacher; Teacher of the Year; Teacher Grants; and Adopter, Volunteer, and Mentor programs.
"As a result of being awarded an Education Partners scholarship, you have lightened my educational burden, which allows me to focus more on the important aspects of school rather than worrying about how I will pay for my education. I hope to have the opportunity to help the ones who need it just the way you and others have helped me. Thank you for believing in me."
